There are two different fields in the school: 'Science - Mathematics' and 'Mathematics - Turkish'. In our school, importance is given to sports-related studies along with nutrition. Our gym is suitable for various sports and is actively used. In our
school, where cancer and diabetes trainings are also given every year, we explain the relationship between nutrition, sports and health. With our GREEN SCHOOL project, which we previously carried out in the school, we gave our students plant growing tasks and encouraged them to grow different products and organic farming. Seeing the positive effect of learning by doing and experiencing on students, we decided to continue this project.
Our school, which is also included in the High School Science Applications program that started this year, is working on "Renewable and Alternative Energy Sources" within this scope. With this subject, which is an environmental study, we aim to create great awareness in our students and share this with Istanbul MEB in the program in May. Our school has previously successfully completed 3 different projects on different topics related to the environment and STEAM. In addition, our school, which became an eTwinning School in 2023/2024, has also carried out many eTwinning projects with many partners from different countries.

One of our project authors, Özlem Çakÿr, is a biology teacher and biologist. She has received training that will contribute to the project such as STEAM,
IT, and Web tools. She has taken part in different projects and participated in mobilities within the scope of Erasmus+. She most recently worked on the preparation of the final product in the Be Green Erasmus+ Project. She guided students in their research.

Gimnazija Metković is a high school located in the heart of Metković, Croatia. Established in 1955, the school has a long tradition of excellence in education, consistently achieving remarkable results in national exams and university admissions. Gimnazija Metkovic is a state secondary school with 330 students aged 14-19 and 50 teachers. There are three main courses – language- oriented, STEM-oriented and comprehensive. The curriculum is highly academic with around 15 compulsive subjects each year. All students go on to higher education at university, and consistently score high in competitions and national school-leaving exams. There is a non- existent dropout rate at the school, which is typical of the Croatian educational system.
